The American Red Cross provides a communication link between military personnel and their families during emergencies and crises. The Red Cross sends messages verifying family illnesses, deaths and births. Military personnel may also be granted emergency leave or reassignments with the assistance of the Red Cross. This service is available 24 hours a day.
Red Cross volunteers and staff provide emergency assistance for local single and multiple family fires, tornadoes or any natural or man-made disaster. These services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Classes in First Aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), swimming, lifeguard training courses, babysitting classes, and youth presentations (covering first aid, personal and general safety skills are available throughout the year. Courses are available to the public, area groups, organizations and businesses.
The American Red Cross provides services internationally and include international family tracing, Holocaust and war victim tracing and international disaster relief.
The Chapter conducts six public blood drives per year. Local businesses are welcome and encouraged to sponsor a blood drive. Please call the chapter for the location of the collection sites, dates and times for donating blood and/or information on blood drive sponsorship.
