$6, provides a shelter blanket


$10, provides a hot meal to a disaster client


$25, provides a flood clean-up kit (broom, squeegee, gloves, bleach, gloves, bucket, etc)


$50, provides a disaster victim food and shelter for 1 day


$200, provides food & shelter for a family of 4 for 1 day
  

$425, provides a Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) and trained driver to distribute food and clean up supplies to those in need


$1500,  provides a family of 4 with all Red Cross emergency services including feeding, sheltering, bulk distribution & client casework

September is National Preparedness Month
Red Cross Urges People to Get Prepared

Many people in this country have experienced a significant crisis in their home or neighborhood, but less than half of the people surveyed by the American Red Cross have taken steps to be prepared for emergencies.

National Preparedness Month is a month set-aside to encourage Americans to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and communities. The Red Cross, among others, urges everyone to take steps now to be ready when emergencies happen.

Heat Safety
The temperatures are rising in Wisconsin and in recent years, excessive heat has caused more deaths than all other weather events, including floods. A heat wave is a prolonged period of excessive heat, often combined with excessive humidity. Generally temperatures are 10 degrees or more above the average high temperature for the region during summer months, last for a long period of time and occur with high humidity as well.   The American Red Cross has these helpful tips on how to cope with and be safe in the hot weather .

Prepare Now to Stay Safe During a Tornado
