Each year, the American Red Cross responds immediately to more than 70,000 disasters, including house or apartment fires (the majority of disaster responses), hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills, transportation accidents, explosions, and other natural and man-made disasters.

Service to the Armed Forces

The American Red Cross provides a communication link between military personnel and their families during emergencies and crises.  The Red Cross sends messages verifying family illnesses, deaths and births.  Military personnel may also be granted emergency leave or reassignments with the assistance of the Red Cross.  This service is available 24 hours a day.

Health & Safety Services

Classes in First Aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), swimming, lifeguard training courses, babysitting classes, and youth presentations (covering first aid, personal and general safety skills are available throughout the year.  Courses are available to the public, area groups, organizations and businesses. 

 

Training Support Center  *NEW*

American Red Cross instructors and customers should now call the new Red Cross Training Support Center (TSC) at 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) for all their questions and support needs. The TSC can help instructors with course registrations, course records entry, ordering training supplies, and equipment purchases, as well as discuss any questions or concerns.
